permission letter to parents

Hi need some help in writing a letter to parents asking permission to carryout observations for my child study unsure how to word it.

my name is ... i am doing a course called .... for it i need to carry out 4 observations on a child over a period of weeks. they will not be removed form the setting or shared with anyone else. you will be able to see all of my observations and i am happy to explain them to you. as the parent i do of course have to ask your permission to carry these out but please know they are for me to practice my observation methodology not becuase there is any concern about your child if you would like to talk it through with me please contact me asap.
