Hi I spoke to my tutor about this today and she said it is equivalent and you do not need to the the Level 5 as the level of work in CCLD4 is the same and no need. Not sure why you would not be able to do it if you wanted to, would of thought it was totally up to the individual.

Hi Yankee

thanks for replying.

I think it was more a case of there being no funding available as i am level 4 qualified and i wouldn't be able to receive a funded place. but i sort of get the impression level 4 ccld is not particularly recognised and doesn't hold any value regarding ucas points etc. do you have any idea if i'd be able to get a certificate from city and guilds for instance, to say that its equivalent to the level 5.

hope all this makes sense

Hi, I have done the level 4 CCLD and am now doing the Diploma 5 in Leadership for health and social care and children and young people's services. Although some recognition of prior learning can be carried over from your NVQ CCLD 4, is does not account for much and this is a completely different qualification. I have not been doing it long but am finding it quiet interesting and the advantage you have with this qualification is that you can pick the path you take as in, childcare, management and social care for adults.

Work a more indepth look if you fancy doing it. x
