Hi,
Use what you've found about creativity so far and how your setting provides aspects of it to invent a format or a plan of action/aka programme for change.
Adaptable example:
Develop a programme of change for children's creative development.doc
Maybe identify the creative areas and activities that are currently on offer and see how you can develop or adapt them.
Maybe make a pro-forma grid or table ..
- Area to be developed
- Why develop/reason for making a change
- Action to take
- Resources needed
- Person responsible
- Date for completion
- Date of completion
- Evaluation - improvements and possible deteriorations.
Questions that may help evaluate an environment to see how you can change what creative areas do, where and how..
What activities are provided.
Where in the room/setting are they provided.
Is this a static area or dynamic, can they be moved/do you want to move them.
What resources are used
Is variety an issue - eg. paint colours, limited selection of musical instruments, restricted access to a kitchen & oven means limited ways to explore food, adults feel the open floor space guides the number of pushalong, sit 'n rides toys available.
Who visits the activity
How long do they stay
What are children's current interests
Would change make an area more/less engaging, more/less challenging.
