Well done on your completion.
The general concensus is that you always put into practice what you have just learnt, to embed your knowledge, this will help you with future learning and training. It's not about notching up numbers/certificates/qualifications but really wanting to work with children.

I certainly like my staff to put into practice what they have learnt and continue to learn whilst working with the children. It's no good reading up on theories but never really having time to put them into practice or to continue to learn to understand children or even enjoying time to play with the children rather than than everything revolving around levels and units.

If you are in the sector for the long haul, it's not a race. When I interview for staff, I take note of their qualifications, but I will also take into consideration what that candidate has to offer and this is borne out when I give them all a trial morning. If a level three appears to have a better understanding, I'm willing to train them.

A level 4 is more on the managerial side, even if that is your goal, now you have a level 3, experience is ongoing, and a level 4 will still be there after you have put your newly gained knowledge into practice and give you a little rest from studying.

thanks!

I just wanted to know what others thought about doing it. I am def gonna have a break before commiting myself to anything new and having been studying for the last 4 years to get to where I am now feel I need a break and enjoy my life instead of having my head stuck in a book all the time!!

xx

the NVQ does not exist anymore the next step is the foundation degree which is a huge leap so you need to work for at least a year and be in a senior prac post before applying.
have a break!
