Myah
Am I correct that this unit is about:
Establish and develop working relationships? and in particular-

Why it is important to show respect for other adults’ individuality and how to do so?
If not can you give us some more info so we can offer our thoughts?

Why it is important to show respect for other adults individuality and how to do so

NVQ/SVQ Level 4 Children’s care learning and development
“Respect – a feeling of admiration for someone because of their qualities or achievements. Due regard for the feelings or rights of others”

Its important to show other adults respect so that they feel comfortable around you, so that you can work together in a team. It makes it easier to build a relationship/partnership making a better atmosphere and reduces the chances of causing conflicts this will help them to respect you back making ourselves good role models for the children helping them to develop tolerance. Everyone has different experiences and if people feel valued they are more likely to share their experiences promoting good practice

To value and respect-
• When communicating with others always be polite
• Take on board other peoples viewpoints
• Identify and be accepting of others capabilities, strengths and differences
• As well as expecting to be listened to , listen to others also
• Ensure everyone understands their own roles and responsibilities and are well informed in order to carry out their jobs to the standard expected
• Understand team members as individuals and respect their values and beliefs
• Do not discriminate against people on their race, religion, nationality, age, ***, physical or mental condition or socio economic status
