'People' as in staff?
If so, having a good team = where all practitioners, respect, like and are supportive of each other.
How do you achieve this?
This will be different with each setting, but listening to each other and valuing what staff members have to say whether they have been there years or have just walked in the door - you are all there for the same reason - the children.
Sharing jobs/duties equally - not leaving the 'horrible' bits to just one member of staff whatever the reason.
Having open discussions at staff meetings - sometimes when people suggest things and they haven't thought them through, don't 'shoot' them down, it may put them off doing so in the future.
To be open to try new ideas out, or think then through and adapt if it's a good idea in principle, try them out and evaluate.
The challenges they may face is that they are unsure in their role - but too timid to ask for help.
They may feel intimidated by a more senior member of staff who usually does the job.
They may feel under pressure if they are given too much responsibility or the work load is too much.
They may think they are not being listened to or valued.
They may be having 'problems' away from the setting and it is affecting their work.
I hope this has started you thinking.
