Default Are you in an employed job while traning?

Hey everyone, I was wondering if all of you who are doing an NVQ Level 2 in CCLD are doing voluntary work in an early years setting or are you employed and still training? Write back please :) x

Default Working or not?

Hi, When i started my level 2 i was a student but then an opportunity came up for bank staff at the playgroup i am at. I have since completed my level 2 and now doing my level 3. It's half term and i am trying to finish 305 before Tues when my assessor comes to see me.

Why do you ask?
Carojane x

Hi again
I would say keep looking out for opportunities in your area and think about the long term - where you want to be most ie preschool/school etc.
Use the internet to visit local setting sites for vacancies etc. Get a feel for what is out there and maybe visit other settings in your area to get a feel for what suits you best. I visited a local setting from an advert and found that it was not for me!

Bank staff is not ideal if you want full-time work but it helps to get experience and confidence in using what you are learning rather than being 'a student'. I have been doing bank since Apr 09 and it's certainly helped me.
I hope you find something suitable.

Ji Jessica
Paid? umm, around £6.75 ph. At the moment i do 3 sessions a week plus planning mtgs once a fortnight so pays quite well considerning its my first job in about 10 yrs - had 2 boys and 'worked' as a housewife for last 10 yrs, plus volunteer running local toddler group for last 4 yrs!!! before joining the playgroup that both my boys went too - both at school now (yr4 and reception). Now doing level 3, just my options to complete after my assessment on Tues, hence the mad dash to get 305 finished before then :( cx
