EYFS is the current framework which the setting follows
A unique child
Child development every area of development physical, spiritual, literacy, social and emotional and cognitive are equally important inclusive practise the diversity of individuals and communities is valued and respected . keeping safe young children develop resilience when their physical and psychological wellbeing are protected by adults . health and wellbeing children health is a vital part of their emotional , social, mental, environment and spiritual wellbeing and is supported by attention to those elements.
Positive relationships
Respecting each other every communication is based on caring professional relationship sand a respectful acknowledgement of the feeling of the children and their families parents as partners when parents and staff work together in early years settings the results have a positive impact on the children’s development and learning, supportive learning warm trusting relationships with knowledgeable adults supports children’s learning more effectively than any amount of resources , key person a key person has a special responsibility for working with a small group of children giving them reassurance to feel safe and cared for and building relationships with their parents.
Enabling environment
Observation assessment and planning babies and young children are individuals first each with unique abilities schedules and routines flow with the child’s needs all planning starts with observing children in order to understand and consider their current interests , development and learning .supporting every child we aim to support every child’s learning through planned experiences and activities that are challenging but achievable . the learning environment a rich varied environment supports children’s learning and development it gives them the confidence to explore and learn in safe and secure ,yet challenging indoors and outdoors spaces. The wider context working in partnerships with other settings and professionals and with individual groups in the community supports children’s development and progress towards the outcome of every child matters being healthy, staying safe , enjoying and achieving , making positive contributions and economic wellbeing.
Learning and development
Play and exploration children’s play reflects a wide range and varied interests children learn at their own level play with friends is important for children’s development . Active learning involve other people , objects and ideas and events that engage and involve children for sustained periods through physical and mental challenges . creative and critical thinking when children have opportunities to play with ideas in different situations and with varied resources they discover connections and come to new and better understanding sand ways of doing things. Areas of learning and development the early years foundation stage is made up of 6 areas of learning and development .All areas of learning and development are linked to one another and are equally important all areas of learning are under pinned by the principles of the early years foundation stage .Once we have found the characteristic of a children in the group then we can then think about activities and experiences to support the children’s play and learning .
How do you use this current framework in your work with babies and children under 3 years
EYFS has 4 themes which are unique child, positive relationships , enabling environments , and learning and development these are linked into the 6 areas of learning and development personal , social and emotional development , communication , language and literacy, problem solving ,reasoning and numeracy ,knowledge and understanding the world ,physical development and creative development .Each week a member of staff will take 1 or 2 of the above 6 headings and match them into the medium planner so they can come up with appropriate activities for the babies and under 3s .

i hope this helps T
