Help SOS Display help please!

I need ideas for a seasonal display board! I don't want to do a purely xmas display, it won't last long enough. In the past we've done 'Festival of Lights' (multicultural) all manner of polar bears and penguins, shiny stuff and winter trees. Children 4 - 11. Any inspiration out there or am I searching for the impossible?

Hiya, that's a nice age range

How about '10 plastic bottles on a snowy wall' Rhyme from Under 5s you could adapt 10 green bottles.. Cut and build the brick wall with individual paper/box/card bricks + polyester wadding for the snow - this should be flame retardent, add glitter, sequins & glue for sparkle. If you've the space to make the display board wall with a top/ledge, stand the bottles - decorated maybe, on the top for an interactive game - or tie them so they don't fall all the way to the floor. Scrunch up paper balls to knock the bottles off. If differently sized, score accordingly or make the win criteria how many bottles can be knocked off in one go - 3 scrunched paper 'snowballs?

To add multiculture to the display look at travelling with or specifically at fair grounds ..

Use your search engine to look for Fariground people showmen travellers.

You may have to plan for turn taking & possible supervision but should be fun :snowman:

Hth xx

That sounds really good, but I forgot to say the board is in a place where children line up for dinner and consequently gets a lot of 'punishment'. I will certainly use your idea in my 'other life' as a TA.
Have had a thought - The Gruffalos Child. Topical and more art based, everyone can do a bit, we can make our own books and it will last to 1/2 term!
What do you think?

ahh yes, I can see how that idea would be a little inconvenient lol

Gruffalo & child sounds great, as you say & especially with the live show tours at the moment is always topical, it's an excellent resource.
