Here's a few ideas for Transport -

-making and looking at tyre prints by moving cars, trikes etc across paint and paper
-make a pretend bus or aeroplane with rows of chairs and let the children's imagination run wild
-go for a walk to a safe viewing area and watch and note different transport passing by if appropriate
-create a transport dance - lie on back and cycle legs/stretch arms and fly/spin like a helicopter/pump arms like a steam train...
-talk about a rocket journey, what might you see/find, what kit do you need, what does your rocket look like... turn into roleplay? Read "Whatever next?" as it's a similar theme
-make a road with chalk lines or equipment and get the children to ride their trikes around, stopping at red lights/waiting at junctions/going around roundabouts/let pedestrians across road (links nicely into road safety talk)...
-hide toy cars etc in sand tray or around the setting for a treasure hunt

the tyre prints can be done with small toys cars or the bikes and trikes etc in the garden on a larger scale - although it is a pain cleaning them, for some reason the paint never stays where it should do with our lot! lol.

we also put diggers in the sand to make it a construction site,
put up pictures of transport from other parts of the world - rickshaws, camels!...
cut out pictures of cars etc, and make collage traffic jams
boats in the water tray
we also combined all our transport small world, with the train track running around the car mat and the airplanes flying over.. the children seemed to really like this!
