The Moon Festival is a holiday in China. It's an occasion for family reunion. Chinese families like to get together to eat the moon cakes and watch the moon at the Moon Festival night.
The article on wikipedia has some good links for activitiy ideas - Mid-Autumn Festival

This looks great! Reading on Wiki, I realised I tried mooncake in EPCOT a few years ago - still not sure if I liked it, lol - the pastry is heavy, like hot water crust on a pork pie... and the filling is a thick paste..... but some lovely activity ideas.

It's officially supposed to be celebrated on the Sunday around the 23rd September (Autumn equinox) which is closest to the full moon (the "Harvest moon")- so by my reckoning, this year it should be celebrated on the full moon of 4th October, although some people just celebrate on the sunday around the 23rd September.

So, I don't know really!!!
