Hiya, November 24th from wikipedia

You could look at the weather, temperature or autumn maybe ..

Pat a cake pat a cake nursery rhyme with rolled oats playdough activity - doesn't matter so much if the dough is mouthed.

Mix water - or a tin of ready made custard to enough oats so that it forms a dryish ball of dough .. use cornflour to spinkle on and over the table surfaces - does this possibly look like snow ? Dusted surface can also be used to mark make in whilst at play

Include cutters and rolling pins to make the dough into clouds, for the 2 year olds maybe talk about the sky and where rain, snow, sleet & hail falls down from.. have they looked up before to see clouds ..

For planning & home communication you could use background information on the activity - send home a copy of the dough recipe you used - being respective of any copyright notices & maybe the rhyme. How food can help our bodies feel warm when its cold outside - tradtional UK winter foods and international recipes. How birthday and other cakes are used to celebrate occasions. How, where and who bakes cakes and possibly why ..

xx
