Im not sure what evidence based practce is or what is a pre recorded category is when observing children

I think evidence based would be recording exactly what you see over time, When observing we need to stand back and be objective, personal feelings and prior knowledge should not influence what you record, it is tempting to add stuff to make it more interesting and easier to interpret, if this is a problem for staff, it can help if the manager and staff member both observe the same child together and then compare observations. If they are 85% the same then it can be said they are reliable.
And Pre recored catergories are check lists, pre coded charts, developmental checklists etc where you tick boxes, eg portage lists, you look for what is on the list and tick it off.

The wording in the questions doesnt help us sometimes its very difficult to see what they want.
