Book review and Early Learning planning ideas:
The Gruffalo's Child ~ Written by Julia Donaldson & Illustrated by Axel Scheffler
This great rhyming book is ideal for a winter themed storybook with it's snow covered pages and chilly blue & white background illustrations ..
It gently explores the bravado of fear as the Graffalo's child journeys through the forest in search of a fabled 'monster... encountering different animals along the way it eventually comes across the quick witted mouse that sends the Graffalo's child 'footstepping back home to the safety of a warm cave !
A reassuring book that 'okays the first steps of independance whilst still safe in the knowledge that home is only a short distance away.
