Coffee Staff evaluation?

Do you find this a worrying time or are you confident in the knowledge that all members of the team are keen to develop and extend their own practices ?

Do you find the need for motivational days or arrange regular staff development courses?

At the moment i have an excellent work team. They are all enthusiastic, willing to advance their knowledge. Its a pleasure to go in to work even though the paper work is exploding.
Together we make a great team even though we are all different we work well together. Which can only benefit the children placed on our care.

i also have a fantastic team, totally behind me giving ideas etc.

this morning i had my early years advisor in for our "joint annual review" was the first time as is a new thing in hampshire, her first one also. basically we chatted for 2 hours filled in a form and gave gradings - we got 25, which is top end of good so am pleased.
was a good morning as showe where we need to develop!! and now have development plan!!

also last week went on a semnar for "hampshire toolkit for self evaluation" (or something like that) more info really for the other form, and breaks the 5 elements bits into unsatisfactory, satisfactory, good and outstanding to give an idea of what is needed. havent looked at it properly but looks good so far. helped with this morning anyway

hope this helps

I have a strange team! they are very hardworking, but some of them lack the confidence?, to give any direct input. I've not been there that long and the last owner used to do all the 'planning' etc herself, at home and just come in and give orders... I come from a background of a very strong and highly motivated bunch.. so I feel like I'm swimming in pea soup at the moment! It's slow but we're getting there!

xx
