Hi a warm welcome to the site. Confidentiality, data protection and disclosure of information are all underpinned by law and guided by regulation.

Can you ask your setting or placement for a copy of their data protection policy? that will explain exactly what they expect of you so that you know what to do in different situations eg. what to do with the information parents and children give you, what information you share with them, how to ask for permissions and the correct way to record all this.

Page 35 of the level 2 childcare handbook has good reading
