Hi
I have been told by our support worker that it is 1 to 8 under 8 and it does not matter for over 8 but best practice is to 1 to 8 for this age aswell. if staff off sick etc then you can increase but it is up to you 1 to 10, 1 to 15 as long as it does not effect your under 8's

I hope this helps

thankyou just got this off the net
1 - 8 aged 3-7 years
1 - 10 aged 8-14

care provided for children aged 8-14 is not allowed to adversely affect the care provided for children under 8 years.
