Hi, a warm welcome to silkysteps.
This sounds good. To select or choose resources that you have in your setting, together with the children - in collaboration or agreement/disscussion enables you all to explore others and own cultures - extending what they know/ their awareness of culture and what goes on around them and in other peoples lives.
The baby doll's variation of skin tones is great to look at how different everyone's skin colouring is. How daker skin defends against the sun and how paler skin needs protection from the sun. The cultural aspect involves country of origin. Hotter countries have darker skinned people that ensures those living there are able to keep healthy and cooler countries have paler skinned people who may find they need to cover up to keep warm & dry
Indigenous people
You could add information about the Nativity, it focusses on one religious faith - christianity and the culture that surrounds it - the story, events, meanings, the props you are able to select for the reenactment, you could also include other celebrations and the cultural resources associated with them that you and the children look through/select together -
collaboration
I hope this helps, enjoy the site xx
