Hi and welcome to Silkysteps

You are responsible for setting out the future of and for the Children in your care. By providing an environment that enables them to feel safe, cared for and adventurous you are paving the way for them to learn and discover at their own pace.

Together you can look at what you want them to be, to feel, to respond to, to experience and learn about, play and be protected...

By applying the UN convention at the centre of practice you are ensuring a framework that considers all areas of development, growth and risk..

These links may help define how you feel about the rights and how you think they help in Childcare ..

Unicef - UN convention of rights

This link from Silkysteps is to a great pdf UN convention on the Rights of the Child

Possibly heavier reading - Children's rights from plato.stanford.edu

Article from wikipedia - I'm not sure of current thoughts on quoting from wikipedia, it may be best to check beforehand.

Hth a little, please enjoy the site

xx
