Help SOS communication

hi i am working my way through my course and i am stuck on the question appropriate communication methords for different circumstances
i was wondering does it mean like verbal communication over the phone ect

Think about the different ways we communicate and the styles we use:
letters
email
leaflets and memos
over the phone
face to face
verbal and non verbal, etc.
Now think of the different styles you use depending on the audience -
formal/ informal.
Adults/children
EAl/ hearing impairments/ visual impairments
