Default problems in placement

Hi all, I am a mature student that is currently studying level 3 children & young people in the workforce, I am in the EYFS one 3 days a week. I quite enjoy it but sometimes feel awkward there, no one seems to know what I am allowed to do. One minute I get told I can change children who have had an accident, then I'm told I'm not. I'm not allowed to know the security code for the door, so I can't get through to go collect supplies or do photocopying. I even have to ask someone to let me through just to use the toilet. I'm not even allowed to go in the staff room to have my lunch, I have to use a tiny room that's joined to the classroom. Another student who is there, who has been there for awhile has the full run of the school. I was told it was because I have a child at the school so I'm classed as a parent helper rather than a student, and I might hear or see something I shouldn't? But still my work colleagues are unsure what I am allowed to do. Does anyone else get treated like this? Or know who I can speak to about it? I use to volunteer in another school a few years back when I was studying my TA courses, that place was the complete oppersite. It makes me feel unwelcomed sometimes :(
