Hiya
You can make use of data available to you to monitor how effectively your provision is implementing inclusive practice. This can be done by selecting a period of time, for example 6 months. Then you should:
Collect data - compile information about the children who have attended the provision, taking care to be accurate.
Analyse the data - organise the data so it becomes meaningful information. Count up the number of children attending from groups likely to be discriminated against. Work out how many of each have attended. For instance, how many children with special educational needs came? how many disabled children came? how long did the children attend for? then you can work this out as a percentage of the number of children attending overall. (this would include ethnic status of children, number of lone parent families, families on low incomes etc)
Evaluate the data - what conclusions can you draw from this? does the information reveal that you are inplementing inclusive practice well - perhaps because the number of children coming from groups likely to be discriminated against has risen? or do figures show that children did not stay for long, so perhaps their needs were not being met effectively? Look to see where change can be implemented to improve the service you are currently offering.
You can also collect other information by compiling a questionaire for children and families, asking how they feel about the inclusive service you aim to provide.
I hope this will help, gud luk
