Hi, evidence based practice is practice that's based on evidence ie. the things that practitioners do in their professional settings have been prooved through reasearch analysis and evaluation to be the best in helping children/parents/families/colleagues/community to achieve.

From pg 280 EYMP 4 of the Heinemann handbook..
Quote:
Practice based evidence:
Practice which is influenced by objective evidence derived from research
For early years this involves ..

REPEY 2002 researching effective pedagogy in the early years looked at 14 of the EPPE settings deemed good at providing for children's outcomes
KEEP 2005 key elements of effective practice
EPPE 2006 Effective Provision of Pre-School Education
ELPP 2009 report on the Early Learning Partnership Project

Kathy Sylva about - contemporary theorists and theory book

Iram Siraj-Blatchford

Children's well-being UNICEF

Hth, enjoy the site xx
