Default CU1532 – Promote equality and inclusion in health, social care or children’s and young people’s settings

Hello, I'm new to this so hope I've posted in the correct place! I wondered if anyone had any ideas for my last observation. My assessor will be coming to observe me do the following but I’m not really sure how to go about it, any ideas greatly appreciated:

Through your practice I hope to observe you interacting with others that shows you respect their culture, beliefs, values and preferences, by modelling inclusive practice.

1532.2.2 Show interaction with individuals that respects their beliefs, culture, values and preferences

1532.3.1 Demonstrate actions that model inclusive practice

1532.3.2 Demonstrate how to support others to promote equality and rights

Many thanks
Jo

Hi, a warm welcome to silkysteps. This will be reflected in the way you engage and interact with your children, if you are welcoming, open, motivated to help them in their day, are aware of each child's cultural background and happy to adapt what's going on in the setting to accomodate children's requests & enquiries.

It may involve you enabling children to select resources, discuss ideas and experiences and help everyone understand the diversity each brings to the setting.

Skin colouring, ethnicity, festivals we celebrate, children's family structure, pets, toys of the moment, prefered ways to play - whole body, observational, fine motor ..

Hth, best wishes with the assessment xx
