Default Sure Start Birth to three matters framework

I am doing CYPOP 1, 1.1 Explain the pattern of development in the first three years of life, and the skills typically acquired at each stage.

In my research I have come across the Birth to Three Framework - download the resources

I have not come across this before

When did it come about and is it still used? I have not heard it mentioned by my tutor etc!!!!!!!

Hi, birth to three matters was the 2001 framework for children's care before England's EYFS brought it and others together to form one document in 2008. It's still useful for reference and guidance but in England it doesn't have any legal standing so isn't used in settings where EYFS is now the requirement. As the statutory framework eyfs is what training providers use with learners, BTTM might be mentioned in a historic context xx

Thank you for your reply. I have changed how I've worded it to past tense, and combined with the changes of other frameworks that now make up the EYFS.

Thank you.
