Help SOS level 3 cyp- safeguarding and the School Standards Framework Act?

hi can anybody please help?

This is the last question I need to complete to sign of my safeguarding unit and I just can not seem to come up with answer

1. Summarise the purpose of the Schools Standards and Framework Act (1998)

2. Describe how school bullying policy is influenced by the act and outline the procedures to be followed.

Hi, this is from page 180 of the older STL handbook states:

'Head Teachers are obliged to draw up procedures to prevent bullying in schools under the School Standards and Framework Act 1998. All staff, parents and pupils need to be aware of the procedures that shoiuld be followed and the consequences of bullying.

hen dealing with any situation s of bullying in your school, you will need to make sure that you follow your school's anti-bullying policy. Although you may need to deal with a single incident on your own, you should also ensure that you are not acting alone in dealing with any ongoing situation and have discussed your actions with a member of the school's Senior Managemewnt Team. It is likely that you will have top follow a series of steps, for example:
  • deal immediately with any incident sof bullying
  • record or report to the Head Teacher or a member of the senior Management Team according to school policy.
  • informa the class teacher
  • if bullying persists, parents will be informed
  • measures will be introduced following discussion with all concerned.
Hope this helps
