Help SOS Please help: assessor issue

Sorry if this is in the wrong place (I'm a newbie ) but I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice. Am really upset and thinking of giving up. :weepy:

Last week my assessor came out for my first observation. As soon as she entered my placement, she barged in and disrupted the class by complaining about the school (personal reasons). I was mortified with her attitude and her manner of speaking (please note, I have only met her twice before and had no idea she would be this bad). This set the tone for a (horrible/uncomfortable) afternoon where she roughly observed me for 45 minutes.

When she left, the staff were not impressed and have told me that they may put in a complaint. Likewise, I am thinking of doing the same. As I am enrolled in a college, I'm just wondering if they will change my assessor. I know other students have also complained about her.

Anyway thanks for reading and ANY advice is appreciated, thanks in advance

Crossfingers assessor issue

Hello Alexmax

I'm working on my Level 3 CYPW. Last June when I finished my NVQ 2 I was given the option to prepare my level 3 with the same assessor or change. I was very happy with my assessor so asked to work with her again. Based on my experience I believe that you have the choice and if you feel uncomfortable with your actual assessor maybe you ought to change or you will feel ill at ease each time you know she will observe you. I think you can find information about what to do in the documents provided by your college.

Whatever your plans for the future, don't give up. I wish you good luck.

in your course handbook there will be a procedure for complaints, make one and ensure the setting does too. there are too many bad assessors in this sector we need to get rid of them

Sorry for my (very) late reply and thank you very much for advice, very grateful to have some idea of what to do. I have complained to my tutor and she has said that there isn't a lot I can do other than complain to the manager :( I've done this and fingers crossed, they take some notice xx
