We use seperate ones for painting, waterplay/sandplay/sensory play, and cooking. Although if for some reason we don't have enough one day then as long as the cooking ones are kept seperate from everything else we don't worry too much if the children wear the same aprons for painting and sensory play.

we use the same aprons for paint and anything messy, but have seperate cookery ones, and the are completely different.

we odnt use aprons for sand play, but do have hats, as were told once we had to have sand hats, so we have dedicated baseball caps for sand!!
