the requirements of legislation, regulation and codes of practice for safegarding and protecting children relevant to the home country where the setting is located. the duty of all within the sector to safegaurd children, including:

whistle blowing where there are concerns about colleagues or in other difficult circumstances

where your concerns may not be seen to be taken seriously orf followed through when following normal procedures.

Thank you

Do you have the level 3 book, there is a big section on legislation and whistle blowing.
I did a legislaton essay? this covered most of the course and you can refer to it alot of the way through. Get my work back tomoz so will look at it and let you know. xxx

Hi Shelbell. I get my learners to look at their sageguarding children policy and tell me in their own words how they recognise abuse and what their settings procedure is in reporting this. Have you got a named child protection person who is responsible for reporting actual or suspicions of child abuse. What agencies can you contact for info/support?? Whistle blowing - what would you do in a situation where you had reason to believe that a member of staff/parent etc was not acting apropriately and again you had suspicions?? What would you do if you reported this to your named person and your suspicions were not acted upon or taken seriously??? (For example, report it yourself to the appropriate agency/ies) This unit is basically you knowing and understanding your policy! Hope this helps a little!!
