If general research is of interest getting a really good idea of your country's framework - pre-birth to three & curriculum for excellence will be a huge underpinning for when your placement begins. Take a wander around Scotland.gov.uk check out what your
local council website looks like and what it offers - early years, children's services, safeguarding, training courses, events, see what e-news you can sign up to that'll help keep you aware of current happenings.
If you use a search engine - google for example, enter what you're looking for and then add scotland or scotland.gov.uk as well, this can help to focus the search locally and return links that can otherwise be quite hard to find.
