Oh this book is brilliant .. and for Children who are just embarking on their first swimming lessons it is excellent ...



The story follows Wombat as he meets a Platypus ... Platypus dives into the river and swims off without a second thought ~ Wombat assumes he can easily do the same ...

Luckily, Platypus comes back and saves Wombat, helping him get to the edge of the river bank. He then shows him some techniques on how to swim.

By holding the reeds on the bank .. Wombat learns to kick his feet to make him move through the water, and using a log as a float he learns how to stay up on top of the water

Koala and Rabbit both happen along and end up cheering their friend on as he and Platypus have a race ...
