Hi, welcome to the site xx

Don't worry about too much about resources, role play can be very economical and take many forms,
  • Gross motor with dressing up clothes, props and space to act out.
  • Puppets that use hand/eye coordination and enactment: through the use of actions, motion, communication and language.
  • Finer motor skills with small world figures/items - animals, cars, vehicles, dolls & environments - dolls house, garages, sand tray, soil, carpets ..
  • Through mark making and craft
  • Reading a familiar book where you and the children can anticipate the storyline and act/say it out and where possible extend on scenarios, events and happenings ..
  • Through games, rhyme and rhythm/music & dance.
A few ideas:
Mask making and role play from a book title, or factual by game play maybe.
Grand old duke of York - make hats/crowns and act out the rhyme: MP3 from Amazon excellent song
Use wrapping paper tubes as telescopes or binoculars and set the scene by exlaining you're off on an adventure ... pirates, explorers, ornithologists ..
Use paper plates as steering wheels and role play rally drivers ..
Slither snake can be a role play paint activity - ask what sort of painty marks they would make if they were a snake sliding and gliding along the ground .. what would their tongue do to taste the air .. point or gesture around the room and ask if they can move around it like a snake ..
Set up small world areas and add interest with different environmental materials - leaves, sand, water, soil, sawdust, rocks, animals, furniture, people figures.
Change the home corner theme and provide resosurces for role play ..

When you've decided on an activity see what cultural aspects you can identify, build in or highlight. Culture is something that belongs to everyone if you want to raise awareness of a culture you feel doesn't feature as prominently in your setting look behind the scenes as such - diets and lifestyles, dress and design, travellers, faith, religion, beleifs, disability, heritage, descent or ancestry, traditions, origin, career choice ..

Hope this has helped
xx
