check this is a current requirement hun because we have had that unit rejigged as we dont do plans other than daily to weekly ones now so dont expect our students to answer like that, it goes directly against the eyfs to plan for a child in the medium term. its about time cache caught up with the eyfs!

A lot of us progressed through our professional development with the use of long, medium and short term plans. The concept is excellent for pinpointing aims, goals and direction as a setting's whole and what provision you have for the children. As mentioned they aren't great for planning for the individual child as they can tend to turn in novel sized documents. Many do still produce medium term plans as some forum threads show and what a plan contains and relates to indicates its usefulness. It can also depend on local preferences & country of residence as to the type of planning format/programme you have in place.

If you don't use medium term plans I would certainly ask if you can use your own.

xx
