Default Why plagiarism is so damaging & the severity of consequence when its identified

This article on Communitycare.co.uk relates to a senior lecturer of the health and social care sector.

Their story details just how demoralising plagiarism is in evidencing the professional abilitity of students and in part to the morale of lectures themselves who commit to maintain and drive up standards.

I resigned as a lecturer after the university did not fail social work students

About plagiarism and how copy and pasting doesn't do anyone any favours

i fail students every single year. not because they are good practitioners but because if they cheat they are not trustworthy and do not deserve to work in our sector.
we saw this article this week and have as a team decided to use our disciplinary procedure even more AND write to cache to ask them to be more rigorous especially with online trainers and their disciplinary procedures.
added to this students who really think we don't know when they are cheating are stupid, we know the texts and more we know how they write.
I will happily chuck anyone off after a first warning and this is going to happen more and more. and thats a good thing
cheats will never prosper
