whenever I talk to a child as in telling them not to stand on a chair or run around in the setting I try to tell them why I am asking them not to do it ( because they will fall and hurt themselves or they may bump into someone and hurt them). In our setting we try and involve the children in drawing up their own rules to help them understand why we have rules in the first place x
