Default hard question..help please x x

i cant make sense of this question, i just cant get my head around it..i'm confused as what to write, and where to start, when it says implications-does that mean problems? am i supposed to show a 'for' and 'against' answer? or talk about other people influencing an observation? or have i just read into this wrong? i cant work out the wording it doesnt make sense to me, i'd REALLY appreciate some help...

question:
Analyse the implications of using information from colleagues, children and their families and other appropriate adults to informs assessments

using Information about children from lots of different sources gives you a full picture of the child. What they do at school my be different to at home etc.
You may notice a very quite child at school but at home they could be very talkative the parents tells you. This information could then tell you that the child is only quiet at school. How could you plan activities to help the child build it's self confidence? Just knowing what the child is like at school will not give you the whole picture of what the child is like. You can not plan on just what you see. A collegue at work my see something different to you so you all have to discuss your children.
hope this helps. it's a bit of a ramble but i am also trying to research my homework.

might also be useful if mention that the other observations might not be objective

For the implications bit....You have to be sure that the information is accurate as far as possible. For example, if the parent gave you information saying thier child could do something did they really do it independently? Are the parents bias & think their child can do more than they can.
Likewise, some parents can be negative about thier children & say they're not good at something when actually the child is.

It's always important to note that the child has been seen doing something by one person but then as their key worker, to observe/assess this for yourself too.
