Help SOS After school activities to support speech, language and communication

Hi, just got my first unit (-CYP 3.1 Child Development) back saying the only thing I need to do is provide more information on how play and activities support the development of speech, language and communication, I have covered role play, given an example of an activity in a sand pit but my tutor suggests something to do with an after school club? I would appreciate any ideas to point me in the right direction please x

Hi, if this is to cover other age groups you could consider board games, action games eg charades, card games such as trumps, if children bring in their own decks you could see how pokemon & yugioh support children's language, outdoor collaboration games, role play or drama and exercise on larger play equipment, karaoke, reading books.

Part of an after school's routine might also have planned times when children come together for discussion and decision making. The out of school alliance website has a nice list of equipment that you might find useful - activities for after school clubs

Hth xx
