General question Recruitment problems ?

What are the biggest 2 problems encountered when recruiting for new staff ?

Have you managed to overcome them - still looking for a / solution and has anyone been available to help / advise on it ..

Hi
We have been trying to recruit a suitable deputy since June! Its been advertised locally, in the local papers, in the job centre, through the childcare link of our local council. 2 weeks ago had 2 applicants, both interviewed. One declined after she was told it was a put out, put away session every day and the other was newly qualified but no positive experience! Its being advertised again. Seems to be quite a few in our local area too.

We're having trouble finding a L3......... lot's of parents want a job, but we'd like someone qualified enough to allow my-self and deputy a bit more flexibility.

Always problems recruiting staff at qualified level..
but at moment we seem to have a few people who want jobs but we don't have them, partly because of a local nursery and their treatment of staff, causing one to join us and then word of mouth asking for jobs as she praised us.. And of course when we need someone we will not find anyone... also had 2 wanting apprenticeships but we cannot afford to pay them, But one has said she will volunteer and work unpaid for us ! Second time this has happened to us, and last one became a staff member so we must do something right.. yes we put away every day too which is not what they are used to...

But in our area 3 or 4 pre-schools have closed as has at least one nursery due to financial problems..... so redundant staff hunting for jobs
