General question CYPW Level 3 Communication

Hi,I need to do an evaluation of how effective the support for speech, language and communication is in my setting(I am a childminder)
Not sure how to go about this,do I just explain what I do in my setting with the children to help with language for example activities, communicating with parents, obs etc,or do I need to do more? Many thanks!

Hi, yes maybe approach it by areas?
  • The opportunities children themselves have to communicate - self initiated and through invitation
  • Observations and record keeping
  • Planned actitives
  • The natural environment/a positive or supportive environment
  • Resources available - toys and adults
  • Parent partnerships
  • Other external professional partnerships
These threads, pages 5 & 35 of talkingpoint's learner materials and this Unit 16 information may help
