I need to explain how different types of transition can effect a child's physiological development.
Any ideas would we great.

puberty,long term illness medical conditions iv got this from my folder they gave us different type of transistions we could use i used puberty

Hi
Ive just done this one and found it easier to break it up into sections.

I started with different age ranges e.g. 0-3, 3-7 etc and this listed possible transition so for 0-3 I put starting pre-school, noted about how this would affect the child, missing their primary carer and getting used to a new carer etc. Then did a little section on the support you could give the child to help them through this transition.

1. Common Transitions 0-19 years
• Starting nursery
• Joining primary school – nursery or reception
• Moving from one class to another
• Starting a before or after school club
• Starting secondary school
• Going through puberty
• Starting new college or employment

2. Less common Transitions 0-19 years
• Bereavement
• Moving home/area/country
• Change in family structure
• Abuse
• Bullying
• Significant illness or disability

3. How many affect children’s behaviour and development –
Short term effects –
• Outbursts of anger
• Crying and tearfulness
• Clinginess/need for affection
• Withdrawal
• Unreasonable behaviour
• Tantrums in younger children
• Regression in behaviour
• Difficulty sleeping
• Loss of appetite
• Lack of concentration

How many affect children’s behaviour and development –
Long term effects –
• Self harming
• Withdrawal
• Avoiding social contact
• Lack of concentration
• Not learning/developing
• Low self confidence and self esteem
• Strained relationships
