CAF - The Common Assessment Framework
Quote:
Common Assessment Framework
A sort of guide
I have been on a couple of CAF training courses and thought this may help. I hope it does, it is my take on what happens, so please feel free to disagree or add bits
What is it?- CAF is the Common Assessment Framework
- Information sharing across agencies and settings for the benefit of the child
- Trying to avoid families having to re-tell their story on numerous occasions and being able to access all the services they need
- To be used if the child has more than one need
- Child protection issues still go straight to Area CP team following CP procedures
- Parents and child must agree to CAF if no agreement no CAF
- To be a lead professional in each CAF who co-ordinates the CAF, to be best person for child
- Contact point will highlight if a CAF has already been started. Access will be limited and very secure. But will include personal info
