Planning observations...

Hi guys, this question has nothing at all to do with the cypw L3, but I duno where else to turn or who else to ask...

Silly question I know, but I'm kinda new to everything in childcare/early years, I've been working at my nursery for almost a year, its my first job in a nursery, and I have only just got my first key child...

My question is HOW DO YOU PLAN AN OBSERVATION?? Probably a simple answer to this one but I had to ask...I hear the girls talking about planning in work, and my key child only does one afternoon a week, so I really need to learn how to plan his observations!!

Sorry for the silly question lol

Thanks in advance!! x

Hi, this is about your knowledge of different observations and which might be the best for you to use.

You plan by thinking ahead :) this question means you've begun planning xx, can you see if the setting has any observation books that would support your choices/reasons?

There's an introductory type thread here: http://www.silkysteps.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14832 and if you can buy, borrow or loan a copy of this book it'll help - observation & planning

Best wishes xx
