Hi a very warm welcome to the site. You don't mention which handbook you've been recommended to use but to analyse you do need information.

Pages 1+ of the EYE book (if you work in england) looks at these aspects of babies and children's health and well-being and enables you to link them with what happens in your setting/placement.
  • food and nutrition
  • physical exercise
  • helping children with their care routines eg. nappy changing, toileting, tooth, hair, skin care
  • the important of minimising the chance of infection, immunisation and how to care for children when the are unwell
  • the partnership you have with parents
  • the sleep and rest needs of children
  • what children's emotional need are in relation to well-being - attachment theory
  • what the impact of transitions and why children may need support during these times
This is a quote from the CYPW handbook page 258

Promoting Children's Well-Being
All of the frameworks in the home nations stress the importance of providing strong emotional support for children, as it is now recognised that children's emotional well-being plays an integral part not only in their ability to learn but their overall health. In terms of practice, this means settings have to provide support so that children's attachment needs can be met.

Hope this helps a little xx
