I have been signed off on this unit, sorry to upset you all....loved it! Having real probs with 304 tho which all the ladies in my class have found the easiest! Here goes, this is what I put:
Community resources and support that are available:
1) Surestart: part of the governments drive to eradicate child poverty; Surestart aims are:
a) improve children's life opportunities by working closely with parents
b) provide better access to family support and advice on health and early learning so that the children are given the best possible start.
Surestart Services include:
a) children's centres which provide health care and education
b) Early Excellence Centres
c) Children's information services
d) Neighbourhood nurseries
e) Childcare link.
2) Local Authority Social Services Dept: take care of children in need. Abuse and neglect counted as the main reason for children receiving Social Service intervention.
3) Children Development Service: this is organised by the NHS and includes
a) specialist health visitors
b) physiotherapists
c) speech therapists
d) occupational therapists
e) psychologists
f) community consultant paediatricians
g) social workers
Other information services which could be passed on to families include
a) childline
b) local children's trust
c) local child protection committee (LSCB)
d) nspcc
e) local c.a.b.
f) refugee support agencies, local childcare information services
g) any specialist support groups for any individual needs of the children
