Hiya,
Really hope someone can help!!

Explain organisational and/or regualtory procedures that protect babies, young children and practioners when providing personal care and why these are necessary?

The organisational and/or regulatory procedures that protect babies, young children and practioners when providing personal care are:-
Organisational procedures
  • Policies and procedures- The policies and procedures that protect babies, young children and practioners are; the mobile phone policy, which states all personal mobile phones must be locked away. The use of cameras policy, which states pictures of children attending the setting are forbidden on personal devices, the nursery cameras may be used by practioners and these are monitored and locked away at the end of the day, as for uploading these pictures this must only be done by the proprioter and only onto the business laptop, these will be deleted once uploaded, printed and either stuck into learning jounreys and displayed on displays with permission. The safe guarding policy, this states expectations on how to report and record suspected abuse, how to detect abuse with signs and symptoms and how to deal with allergations of abuse against practioners. The polices and procedures are in place to outline clear expectationers of practioners which enables children and young babies to be proctected during personal care routines.
  • Being in sight and hearing distance- Being in sight and hearing distance is a procedure in place at my setting to help keep babies and young children safe during personal care routines because it means children are never left alone with one member of staff to ensure abuse of a child by a practioner is minimised, it also means by staying in hearing distance, conversations between children and practioners can always be overheard by other practioners, this ensures monitoring of conversations.
  • Providing practitoners with child protection training-
Ensuring child protection training is undertaken is a procedure at my setting to help keep babies and young children safe during perosnal care routines as this provides practioners with advanced knowledge of child protection and offers them adivce as to how to keep themselves safe also from false allergations of abuse against a child.
Regulatory procedures
  • CRB checks- CRB checks are a regulation that must be obided to protect young babies and children from harm during personal care routines, CRB checks are a document that is applied for, checking that the person specified has not been convicted of any illegal offences, this enables organisations to check new employees of any criminal offences and it will also highlight *** offenders to increase child protection.
These are all necessary to protect young babies, children and practioners during personal care routines becuase all these procedures together contribute to protecting the safeguarding of children by minimising the opportunity for abuse to take place and the opportunity for allergations of abuse by having witnesses whenever your with children because your never on your own with a child.
