Every Child Matters ?

:reading:

Hello, please can someone tell me if 'Every Child Matters' is as relevent as it was a couple of years ago?

I know it belonged to the last govt. but I think the information and the outcomes are sound. Can I use it as a point of reference generally?? Thanks in anticipation Mrs Label

Hello

i would say yes because it is still used today, until something new comes out to replace it , then it is still as relevant as it was a couple of years ago.
Obviously this is my opinion and within our setting we still work within the Every Child Matters outcomes.

I would say yes it is, we have just had our LEA Advisor in and she asked us to add the ECM five outcomes as headings to our displays not just the EYFS 6 areas. So in hers and Ofsteds eyes then very relevant and we still work towards them.

Hmmm I am not so sure tbh.

The dedicated ECM website has disappeared and the words Every Child Matters no longer appear on the front page of the replacement (or they didn't last time I checked).

However it is still (at the moment anyway) closely linked to the Eyfs through the principles and to the self evaluation form.

Thank you all for taking time to reply!
It looks as though we are all on the same train of thought! I couldnt find a 'dedicated' web site and that is what got me wondering!!
No doubt someone in their wisdom will re-invent it under a new name!
Thanks, Mrs L
