It might be easier for you to turn it around and ask yourself -

'How would I like others show their respect towards me?'

Really listening to me and not just going 'through the motions'.

Including me in decision making when appropriate.

Asking my opinion on something and valuing it.

Accepting me as I am and for who I am - whatever my beliefs, religion or culture.

Seeing and treating me as an individual and a professional in the sector.

Treating me equally and fairly.

I'm sure you can add to this list.

Respecting other adults means finding out more through clear communication, never jump into conclusions or make assumptions. The clearest way to communicate with others is to use ‘I’ statements. This means what you think, know and believe in a way that you own the comment e.g. I am happy to serve lunch tomorrow, is clear communication then I might serve lunch tomorrow, which is unclear. Listening to other is very important.

A team is a group of members working together and sharing responsibilities.
A good effective team should have co-operation, consistency, encouragement, respect, efficiency, belongings, sharing, balance, empathy, initiative, maintain confidentiality to maintain trust.
