Hi is there anyone that is able 2 help me out on this unit as its doing my head in.
Unit 110 outcome 1 ac 6,explain key factors in the process of childrens development

If you've the Cache handbook page 252 of EYMP 2 looks briefly at self image and identy - on amazon.co.uk

factors could include
  • What the child's age is
  • Their maturity and intelligence - how confident they are, how they manage change, resillience, promotion of independance and self care
  • Their experiences - past, present and future eg
    • parenting styles and expectations
    • what the rules, boundaries, punishments and rewards are in a child's life - do they mould / invite / discuss compliance, rebellion, positively inform a child's thoughts and perceptions.
    • social interactions, discrimination and inclusion
    • sense of belonging and sense of equality
    • how a child's own personal interests are valued
  • Knowledge and understanding of those around a child eg
    • of approaches & theories - attachment, transitions, stages eg. of development, psychosocial & parental, sustained shared thinking, first hand or hands on learning, reflective practice
    • how self esteem is supported
    • provision of activies and how interesting surroundings are managed
    • ability to find and work with others
