Some people have difficulty in doing some parts of parenthood, you need to be sensitive because of how some parents may respond. Especially if its a negative comment about their child they can become very abrupt then i would explain about getting on their level ie i remember when my child x was behaving in this manner. We can assess the childs behaviour and support you with the problem by doing the same things and reading from the same page
NSPCC do information leaflets on reinforcing positive behaviour.
