Default Dilemma between rights and choices of children and health ans safety requirements

Hi, I'm stuck on this question.

Explain the dilemma between the rights and choices of children and young people and health and safety requirements.

Not quite sure what to actually write and what i need to include. Can anyone help me please? xx

UNCRC
Risk assessment

Balancing the risk found in activities and other oppotunities of learning
How to manage risks could include:
 recording the conflict or dilemma
 reporting to a senior member of staff
 risk Assessment
 discussion with the individual and or their family

OCR.org.uk SHC unit 34

Raising the awareness of healthy choices - doughnut or apple, cigarette or knowledge of why & how to say no
Dilema and contention in wanting to keep children safe yet listen to what children express as an interest or choice

Duty of care actions pages 107, 108 and 109 - collins level 3 handbook and principles of safeguarding
  • Recognise and meet physical, emotional and psychological needs
  • Anticipate danger and manage risks
  • Intervene and support in the event of illness and injury
  • Be alert to the potential exploitation, abuse and neglect
  • Provide guidance and supervision of play and activity
  • Uphold and value rights: uncrc, treat equally as individuals, protect from discrimination, communicate with others in support of their best interests - where conflict can exist ie. do you share information with others that could result in the child being safe and remain healthy, or, although you know what a child is doing/planninig to do you do not feel it's concerning enough to share. Do you feel that if you spoke to others it would breach a confidentiality where a child had valued your relationship enough to tell you about their plans/interests/wishes and yet you know it will place them in a position of risk, abuse, vulnerability.
